Android Question

Hi

my Samsung galaxy s3 just wont charge. it takes about 24 hours to fully charge (from power point) and about 8 hours to completely drain even if im not using it. to charge it I have to turn off wifi and put on flight mode then turn off or it wont even charge at all.

ive deleted all unused apps, always clear my ram and close all things, I turn off wifi all the time and gps is never on. I have power saving mode on and my screen is on auto. but still even not using it at all is killing the battery.

can I buy a new battery or charger? or any tips. im going crazy. its like I don't even have a phone.

its only about 8 months old

thank-you

Hi

Among you you are using the original charger it sounds like you have a faulty battery.

Perhaps swap chargers with someone you know and see if anything changes to check the charger.

Mobile data use is the biggest drain on batteries after the screen. It could discharge in 8 hours if data is on and is in a very poor reception area and continuously hunting for a signal. Wifi does not use much power unless it's actually downloading. Gps can drain the battery quickly if there is an app using it.

If you can, borrow a battery for a day from someone and see if that makes the difference.

Hope this helps

Roger
