The Lg Motion has sensors that I rarely use, but logs show the hardware consumes a good amount of battery. So I found a way to disable some sensors for longer battery life. The touchscreen, battery, and cpu heat sensors will still operate fine.
In /data/system/sensors is file called sensors
It has a value of 1 in the file (this means sensors on). Change to 0 and reboot.
This will disable the Accelerometer Sensor, Orientation Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Magnetic Sensor and GPS.
I use mx player for video. If you go into its settings and choose (system default)in video orientation, there is a button on the screen to watch in horizontal mode.
Change the file from 0 back to 1, reboot, and sensors are re-enabled. Also, a factory reset will re-enable all these sensors.
