Battery shot

So juice defender has stopped working entirely. 3G stays on when phone is idle. I can barely make it half the day without phone dying. I do some light web browsing and texting. I have fancy widgets but that shouldn't eat up that much battery.

Any suggestions?

I would carefully and methodically go over each and every app and widget I had installed, as to background updating and syncing, along with their associated services/processes running (menu > settings > applications > manage applications > running services).

Facebook, for example, is known to "sync loop" now and then, attempting to sync ad infinitum and not always connecting. Gmail can also do that same thing, sometimes in unison with Facebook or other syncing apps.

I'd also go into application manager and use the clear cache and clear data buttons on every single syncing app/widget in there (a pain, because you'll also have to reconfigure those apps and widgets, hopefully this time with an eye toward less auto syncing ;)).

Still having poor battery life. I don't have much in the way of auto-syncing or widgets. Only the Fancy Widget but that only updates once every 2 hours. Juice Defender used to work great and would give me x1.90 battery life but now is just at x1.00.
