Help Battery Tanking

So my battery life has never been anything but spectacular until very recently. I used to be able to last 1.5 days with casual - moderate usage but now 9 hours of very casual use seems to completely drain the battery. In addition I can only charge it to 90% for some reason, I guess one of the lithium cells died or something. For the time being I've uninstalled a huge amount of apps, deleted most of my widgets, and I monitor apps to make sure they aren't draining my battery but this is more of a band-aid approach and not solving the problem.

Anyways is there anything I can do to improve its life or do I just need a new battery completely? If so should I try to get just another stock Atrix battery or are there some nice extended ones?

Thanks!

Its not uncommon for the batteries to have cells go bad.

Most people don't realize they are covered under their own, 1 year warranty.
With my BlackBerry 9700, I only had it a few months and the battery went bad. I called AT&T tech support, they sent a replacement, FedEx, overnight, at no charge... and I didn't even have to return the bad one.

If you want to buy one, you can find the OEM one's on Amazon for under $20 (free shipping) -> Amazon.com: Motorola OEM Droid X/MB810 Extended Battery BH6X: Cell Phones & Accessories I can vouch for that one. My fiance's daughter dropped her Atrix and the battery popped out, landed in a gutter and washed down a storm drain. (Yeah, go figure!!) So, we bought that one and it's the genuine thing.

Wow thanks for the info! I'll definitely check out the warranty route first to see if that is still active but if not I'll go ahead and buy the battery you mentioned and maybe even a backup :)
