Battery Temperature

Hey guys,

I was wondering what temperature your battery averages throughout the day? I feel like mine always gets warm when I run any apps for 5minutes or more. Today with minimal use, my average temperature has been around 90. That seems pretty high... what do you guys think? Post your temperatures here!

I notice that it makes a huge difference on what charger you use, in car or home. Plugged into a computer, there is of course no difference, but certain chargers for car or home can get the device HOT real quick.

I am using the stock charger at home and a Motorola charger in the car now, since some other options resulted in a toasty charging device.

How can an app possibly show the temp on the battery?
It would need certain hardware to be able to do this surely?
As far as I'm aware the S3 does not have a built in temp monitor for the battery so how can an app get this info?

No S3 have built in temperature monitor. I have minimalistic Text app and I made a widget that shows both my battery temp and voltage. Even more s3 has built in pressure sensor so it can measure air pressure too.

I use Minimalistic Text app and I created a widget that shows both battery temperature and battery voltage. My temp usually hangs around 40 Celsius degrees. When should I start worrying about Overheating?

Recently I have been using the app iOnRoad Lite. It needs a view out the windshield and warns if you are following too closely or if you stray off the edge of the road. Supposedly to do this, it must use the cell phone GPS and Camera. This is the only app that I have used that causes the battery to overheat. Today it reported a battery temp. of 55 degrees Celsius (131 F)
