battery test and solution .. procedure ..

how do you know if your battery is ok? and not a software issue?

well i try to do this test once in a while ..
restart the device in SAFE mode .. this way none of the non native apps are active ..

and you can see if it is ok .. in airplane mode .. (to accelerate the test you can run the same movie each time .. and see how quickly the battery drains ..)

if it is some software - anyway to pin point it? to remove it? (i do not see anything standing out in the battery usage stats ..)

I have, for several years, used GSam Battery Monitor (app from Playstore) to monitor battery drain and its causes and I am fairly confident that it reports reasonably consistently. It identifies app usage in more detail than the standard battery settings.
