Battery? Won't even boot up.

Hello! I have my Triumph set to STOCK ROM just so everyone knows :) My phone has been having some issues charging lately. It would charge a little then stop. A little more then stop. I could never seem to get it fully charged. I figured it's probably just a bad battery since I bought the phone used and when I first got it, it wasn't having this problem. The phone was used for a while, so I figure it might actually be the battery. Well yesterday I was out and about and it completely died. When I got home to charge it, it won't charge at all. The light comes on off about every 15 seconds. If I hold the power button, the screen comes on and shows a red charging stationary symbol, and goes off. I left it overnight and nothing. It will not power on or boot up. I plugged it into my computer and it recognizes there is something there, but no light or charging happens on the phone. I ordered a new battery for about 10 bucks today in the hope that this will fix my problems. Any thoughts? Does this sound like a bad battery issue? Or maybe something else? Thank you!!

Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago... you're right! Bad battery... I'm under warranty so vm have me a new one without any hassle

Best way to find out is to pop that new battery in, then go from there. :)

Mine was bought on Craigslist, so unfortunately, no warranty :/ But this is what yours was doing too? I really hope it's the battery, because if it is then it's a cheap fix.

As I posted in a similar thread:

Update, found a good fix for this..... squeeze the shell (closed) on the charger end (male) plug just a bit. Now with a magnifying glass and a sewing needle gently and slighly pry up the 2 pairs of outer tensioning devices on that charger cable male plug to restore and even augment their original spring action.
Guarantee if your phone port is worn this will help noticeably if not fix it altogether for awhile. Then do it again.

(PS don't forget to clean the phone port contacts removing the battery first of course)

Now I can wiggle it around at will light stays on, and lights up first time every time when you plug it in.

This has solved all my charging problems as you are also experiencing. The female plug on the phone is experiencing wear and the shell expands and gets sloppy. You can compensate by doing the above measures to the charger end of the connection.

Virgin Mobile will usually honor warranty requests even if you're not the original purchaser. Give them a call, don't even mention that you purchased it used and see what they say. Remember we're off contract, you don't even have to provide a name when you activate. You have nothing to lose. Also as mentioned elsewhere in this thread, because of the "wonderful" battery life with the Triumph I invested in an external charger myself, besides the ability to have a spare charging while you're using the phone, it saves wear and tear on the notoriously fragile usb port.
