Hi - I've just found your forum and wondered if anyone can give me some up to date information on battery life for the HTC Desire HD. I like my phone but the battery life is awful. I'm prepared to buy a new battery but will this help?

Battery life is 100% subjective. Basically it depends on how much you use your phone and how you treat the battery. If you let it go dead before charging it, it will lower the life.

I assume you've done this, but make sure you have all the "extras" turned off. Like wifi, constant facebook/email updates, ect

There are some things you can do to improve battery life.

First delete any/all widgets from your home screens that you don't regularly use. Remember that widgets use CPU, memory, and often times data whether or not you use them...

Next disable auto brightness on the phone and set the screen brightness to the lowest comfortable level.

Next, if your phone supports battery profiles, select the most conservative battery profile that fits your needs.
