Help BatteryDrain, am I late?

Hello everyone.

I got my very first smartphone shortly before Christmas and its a lovely f60 as u may have guessed. All was fine and dandy up until a few days ago, when my battery started to drain much faster than before. From the little research I did it looks like im getting bad signal, and the phone spends more resource to maintain a signal, hence the "Cell Standby" is rather high, at 33%. Funny thing is, at the local gym i go to its lower by about 6-8 percent. It also says that my battery is "Discharging", what does that mean? (English isn't my native language). It seems like this problem persist trough all kind of smartphones and tablets, atleast that's what google showed me.

Helpful thoughts are apreciated.
 
The discharging simply means that you are using the battery. That is, the phone is not connected to the charger. This is normal. The poor signal problem is a tough one to overcome unless a)new towers are added or b) a problem with the radio firmware can be corrected via an update. Other device owners may know if there have been updates issued that would affect the basebands.

Baseband? And does that update have to come for the software on my phone? Before this issue when my phones screen was turned off for the night it barely moved 1 percent, now i loose about 30% (from 100%) of my battery overnight, just like that. If i set it to airplane mode its all fine, no drain overnight. Some google search results suggested factory reset, I would consider that as a last resort. Others suggested an update for the software. Some suggested certain apps to uptimize battery life. Just feels like my phones not the same anymore ..:(
 
Factory Data Reset should be a last resort. It could help fix something if you have a messed up cache somewhere. I don't own this phone, so my response was more general Android knowledge. The F60 is a fairly populare phone, so I would imaging another member that has the phone and know if there is a good update available they will chime in at some point.

As far as battery optimizers, they are snake oil at best, and at worst, can make your problems bigger.:( Read this thread for a really informative discussion. Pay close attention the how @EarlyMon breaks it down in his posts.

Hmm, did this battery drain start when you first experience poor signal strength? Also, in the battery statistics section do you an app called "Mediaserver" as well?
 
Thanks for that topic, looking into it now. Still, doesnt seem normal to me that from one day to the next my battery drains so much faster.

@LG Fanatic> I honestly wasnt monitoring my signal that much before this, so i cant realy say. What I do know is that in the apartment where I live the signal is weak here and there, but usable. No, no such app as Mediaserver.
 
If u have it in spanish or any other language the name could vary, perhaps something like, "servidor multimedia". By the way i have it running and leaching a 7% of my battery do i have to worry?

Yep. That's the app. In fact, the exact English translation is mediaserver. What that app does it indexes all of the pics, video, music and other media content on the phone. Which is why it's called Mediaserver.

I asked about it because I've had a similar battery drain happen in my previous android devices and this app was almost always the culprit. I like to keep a lot of media on my phones so I can enjoy music or video at my leisure. Occasionally, I'll load a file that doesn't agree with the system which causes that Mediaserver app to run constantly which drains the battery pretty quickly. The phone would get very warm with just regular use. Deleting the file and or rebooting the phone usually fixed it.

Any way, do you take photos and video with your phone? Or download a lot of music files or just regular files in general? Do you load movies and music to your phone from a computer too?
 
Go into settings/tethering/mobile networks and enable use 2g overnight and see if there's a difference in the morning. If so then it's poor signal.
 
Oh hai. Looks like problem was solved by following EarlyMons advice by simply getting rid of some apps. It probably was a recent update for Evernote (which i havent realy used to be honest..). I still keep an eye on the battery, and i realised ive become a bit paranoic now about the battery, expecting it to fill Indias energy needs.

Install gservicefix app from play store. It fixed my battery issue.
