bbc i player & itv player: not available in channel islands

I am unable to get apps for either BBC I player or ITV player for android. I live in the channel islands - guernsey. Any advice?

The Channel Islands are part of the United Kingdom, well last time I checked they where, so BBC iPlayer and ITV Player should work in the CI, and the BBC and ITV certainly broadcast in the CI.

What you could try though, go to a website that tells you your location and country. Something like speedtest.net or mybrowserinfo.com and if it doesn't say "United Kingdom", then they probably won't work. If it does say "United Kingdom", you might want to contact the BBC and ITV and see what they have to say about it.

Maybe they got you down as been in France, because it's closer?

EDIT:

Here's the answer, but I don't think you're going to like it.
BBC iPlayer - Help - Android App - Why can

Apparently Google doesn't think that the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are part of the United Kingdom.

Youll have to just sideload them. Theyll work there once theyre installed

Tbh youre better off installing flash and just going to their websites on your browser. Better video quality. The iplayer app is terrible
