Bbm

Can someone please explain to me, someone who never owned a Blackberry device, the appeal of BBM? I've never really had much of a problem with unwanted texts (and getting BBM wouldn't eliminate them on my existing text messaging service). And while the read receipt is nice for things I send, I don't think I really want that on things I'm sent.

Its the pin to pin...only talk to who you want and the ability to see sent, delivered and read in a conversation is nice and much more reliable than delivery reports. Basically its a high end IM application that's been around for ages. I liked it when I had a BB, messaging/email has been BB's claim to fame.

Isn't that part also more of a PITA? If I want to send a text to someone I'd have to contact them first. Now if I know their cell number I can likely send a text.

True, but... flip that around and that PITA is happening to someone who wants to send you IM SPAM. BBM is a cool IM, at least it was on the Blackberries I had. I'd say they're a bit late with the freight here.

It was one of the original mobile real time messenger. People loved it because it didn't use SMS towards your bill, and again, it was real time. You could see when the other people were typing..etc.

Now the mobile market is saturated with these services. Most people are using apps like Kik and hangouts now.

Blackberry should have released this a couple years ago
