Be Ware! Texting Interface Fiasco

So, you get a message that is part of a group.
You also have your daughter as a separate message recipient.
You decide to send your daughter a message and you pick the first occurrence of her name.
At some point, you realize it is in a group thread.
So, you uncheck the "Group conversation" box and see "Enter individual message" in the text area.
Then you send the message and start receiving sympathy calls because you just revealed your daughter's illness to everyone INDIVIDUALLY in the group!

What a horrible interface -- "Enter individual message" surely implies a single message, not one to each member of the group.

Don't learn the hard way what "Enter individual message" means.

I've learned that when in a group message thread you can press and hold the thread and you'll get the option to respond directly to the last person who sent a message and no one else.

Thanks for the tip. Two things:

• I have a very new Galaxy Note 4, and I don't see how to "press and hold the thread".
• I have a solution to my problem -- be more careful. What I would really like to see is someone to fix this awful interface.
