From what I have read the headphones are not needed. The beats audio is all in the phones hardware with included software, any headphones would do, obviously better quality headphones would be better than bog standard rubbish of course.
 
It does indeed! That's the first article I've seen suggesting that so we will have to wait and see. If that is the case however I think they may loose sales as nobody is going to spend
 
It would be surprised if they didnt bundle in a basic pair of beats earphones with the phone, esp when it comes to the top of the range One X. if the sensation XE and XL series has them, im sure the one series will.

anyways, thought the beats audio is purely a special equalizer setting?
 
Even if it is just a special equalizer, they would still have the option to only activate it if a pair of beats headphones were attached. The thing that doesn't make sense to me is to advertise beats so heavily for these phones and then only allow its use with separately sold headphones.

hmmm....just wondering how would they exactly restrict beats only sets?

I suppose if somehow the beats audio stuff are all TRRS rather than the standard TRS maybe (but then any TRRS headset would work?), but still not sure how you can restrict it...

end of the day, its just another 'plus' for the phone to have and an additional selling point - restricting customers to a choice of UBER expensive ear pieces wouldn't be advisable (unless HTC sell BEATS stuff at a heafty discount to new HTC One owners).
 
There is a bundle which includes Beats Solos, but if you buy the phone itself it doesn't come with it as far as I've heard.

It could be network specific, but the replies from Three (UK) here Sneak peek of the HTC One X on Three. - YouTube confirm that the phone will come with Beats Audio earphones. A good thing too as I'm planning to jump ship from T-Mobile.

But as already mentioned in the thread, the current top-end HTC handsets with Beats Audio come with their 'phones, it'd be a bit of a step down if the flagship handset for this year didn't!

sorry mate but I didn't see any mention of the unit coming w/ the specific Beats Audio earphones :confused:

but anyway, I pre-ordered via Unlocked Mobiles and trying to find out.

Just to clear up any confusion, my Sensation XE's Beats Audio features will NOT work w/ anything but the BEATS Audio proprietary earphones. I tried it.

Update on my earlier post - just arrived home on a long plane flight-where I used my XE with my noise canceling headset - and the Beats Audio was still enabled. I'm confused - but that's good news.
 
Phones4U are saying that Beats earbuds will be provided. Not sure if they will be iBeats or urBeats though. Not sure if there's a difference between the two anyway
 
Its a bonus for me if they come with beats. I'm currently using Klipsch S4A's with my device and they rock!
