The headphone bit will work. If the particular model you're after has buttons to control playback, chances are that they won't all work. Answer / Play / Pause probably will, anything else: good luck.
The problem is that Google never mandated specs for player controls, hence the almost total absence of a after-market for docks etc. Such a dumb mistake!
