beautiful widgets weather is way off

I just installed BW along with launcherpro...and while I do enjoy launcherpro, BW sucks because the weather is like 20 degrees off and no matter what I do, it stays that way. Basically, nothing I've seen is better than HTC Sense weather clock.

Are there any GOOD alternatives to BW that includes a clock and weather animations or at least a good weather/clock combination?

The one thing that made me fall in love with launcher pro was the freakin' dock! That thing is awesome...but alas', HTC draws me in every time with their Sense Widgets.

I tried Beautiful Widgets which, like you stated, is off. Then tried Weather and Toggle Widget (I suggest you try out) which had a skin to look almost exactly like the HTC Sense Clock. However, neither of them have the full screen animation to match the weather that I have grown so accustomed too.

Also, LauncherPro does not have the Calender Widget (full page one), Friend Stream Widget, Adjustable Music Widget, or Mail Widget....hell, its lack of widget support is probably the ONLY reason I switched back to my original HTC Sense bliss.

lol I was hesitant to move away from Sense and now I know why. There's nothing really wrong with it. LauncherPro is really really nice though. Too bad there is no way to support Sense widgets :(
 
The developer Fede or something released the "LauncherPro Plus" which, in the future, will support HTC Senseish widgets. Check it out, google LauncherPro and see what is up. Either way, he will never be able to match it...it kind of sucks. I'm sticking with Sense
 
its not the widget that is the problem; the weather reporting service that these widgets use has been screwed up for the last 30 days, so none of them have been working right..

there is an app called "The Weather Channel".........

"The Weather Channel" app seems to work better. Found my city unlike the HTC app, temperatures seem accurate as well.
 
there is even a weather channel widget, if you must have a widget on screen..

their temps are always accurate, unlike the htc/LP "type" widget forecasts/temps
 
I use the Weather Bug widget. Works fine. Earlier versions of the Weather Channel app really sucked the battery dry; maybe that's been fixed by now.
 
The weather widgets have only started messing up for me in the last few days. Except the Snowstorm widget which looks great but never has accurate forecasts.

As for LP/Sense/widgets. A lot of replacements out there for Sense widgets that are customizable with skins etc. which is an improvement. Like Pure Messenger, it blows Friendstream away. The only thing I miss from Sense is the News widget, there's nothing like it in the market which utterly baffles me.
 
Yeah the stock clock/weather we have has been acting strange lately, not accurate at all and it keeps giving me 2 locations for the same location (whats even funnier is that both locations while the same have 2 different temps lol)

I like the look of the clock widget with weather as my main screen but its annoying how off it is ...

Than again this year most weather "experts" have been way off as well, its amazing how most major news people predict weather as a generality for the whole metropolitan area but 20 mins north the temps are 5-8 degrees different in both directions ...
 
Mine hasn't updated in nearly a day now. I know it's not an issue with the app, but this is getting annoying. Everyone else still having problems?

I dont use Beautiful widgets anymore.
 
1+ for weatherbug elite. Beautiful widgets has been stuck at 84 degrees for days...boy I wish it was 84 degrees outside. It's like 98 here. I notice my widget will just disappear and says cannot load widget. This is why I stick with sense. Less bugs.
 
HTC did a fantastic job with Sense. Every time I think about moving away from it, @#%@ like this happens and I realize why I can't.

I agree, but I wish it were more customize-able. I switched to Launcher Pro Plus because I can make my own dock.

As for Sense replacements: I use SwitchPro widgets and RetroClock, and I've got everything I need...

...except for a good weather widget! I just threw a link to the HTC Weather app on my homescreen. Works fine without Sense running, and it takes only a second to load.
 
yeah, too bad you cant blend Sense with Launcher Pro/ADW!

I've switched to WeatherBug Elite widget, and a free clock called "DigiWatch", and the combo works perfectly, and looks great!

Does Weatherbug Elite add anything that the free version doesn't have?

Not really sure, since I "got" the weatherbug elite program directly, without getting the "plain" one first...I'm sure if you go to their site, they probably explain the difference..

As far as using the widgets with other launchers, I am sure HTC does that on purpose, so you stick to their "stuff"..

Re: HTC, you are correct. It's too bad, and not in the Android OPEN spirit.

Regarding Weatherbug, I ended up grabbing a Nexus One Weather app .apk, and that works great.
 
Weatherbug elite gives you better widgets. It's worth it to me. The free one only has a tiny widget and another small one. Elite has a four day option widget and a radar widget.
