Beeb Player Alternative

I don't understand why the developer has stopped. He claims that 2.2 will be bringing Flash and that therefore, as iPlayer works on Flash, his app won't be needed. But what about the thousands and thousands of devices out there that will never get 2.2?

Download the beebplayer.apk and install it manually ;)
Do a search on google, there are several sites to download it for free.

Now that Beeb player has been discontinued does anyone know of a good alternative? Thanks
This was one of the most dissapointing apps I tried, I found it never worked properly.

An app for the iPlayer (and apps for the other TV catch-up services like Channel 4's, Five's and ITV's(although less so for ITV's!)) would be something I'd happily pay for, I can't believe that the BBC couldn't produce such an app, ideally one that let me download the show to watch on the tube.

the app is ok, it works, but feezes at times during a clip, and you have to restart the clip.
