Help before I download Netflix

The Epic 4g Touch is my first experience with Android. There is a notice when downloading Netflix that says the app can access information on the phone. Is that just a formality? Has this presented a problem for anyone? Is there a setting that will keep Netflix from accessing my SD card and phone logs, etc?

I've had Netflix on every Android phone I have owned and currently have it on my Epic Touch and have had no issues at all. I would say you are safe and shouldn't worry about it.

I wonder if that message is just a formality because it stores some information about your account and Instant Watch list on your phone that it has to access. Not sure about this, but it would make sense.

THis is a pretty standard formality. A lot of apps access information on the phone, actually most. Welcome to Android! I think once you get rolling, you will never leave home with out it.

Speaking of Netflix, be careful if you use the app for more than an hour or so. My E4GT gets incredibly hot after that point, so just keep an eye out for that.

I have noticed the same as well, but it's significantly less if using Wi-Fi instead of 3G/4G.

Also, I tend to pop my case off (Ballistic) just in case, if I'm going to be watching for a while.
