Root Before I root my incredible now, I have one question...

Does wifi tether work yet? I had it on my droid and I need it to tether to my iPad! If it doesn't work yet then I will wait since that is pretty much the only app I want right now that requires rooting.

Actually it does work...take a look over here:

Root process, my regurgitation of it, with Perm Part added.

fw_bcm4329.bin

connect the USB and mount your sd card

in the SD Card main directory create a folder named android.tether

copy the wifi tether .apk you downloaded to the main directory on the sd card

copy the second .bin file to the android.tether folder

disconnect the USB

Install the wifi tether APK like any other APK

ENJOY WIFI TETHER!

After many tries, I finally have my Incredible rooted and wifi tethering working! Hallelujah! My iPad is happy again!
