Beginners Guide to Tasker *Video Inside* must watch

I love these types of videos that expose things like Tasker to new users and help them get excited about it. I have a couple of comments though (hopefully taken as constructive):

  1. You're sometimes mixing terms that have specific meanings in Tasker. I understand that in a tutorial it's desirable to reword things in a way that the audience might "get" better, but I think it's best to avoid mixing words that have specific meaning within Tasker. An "action" does one thing (i.e. turns GPS off, turns speakerphone on, plays a ringtone, etc.) A "task" is a group of one or more actions that are performed in sequence (ignoring flow control capabilities). A "profile" is a set of conditions that, when met, will cause a task to run, or when no longer met, cause another task to run.
  2. It's not necessary to have an Exit Task if all you want to do is reverse settings changes made in the Enter Task - Tasker will do this automatically. (automatically reversed actions are identified by a "cog" icon")
Overall an excellent video introduction to Tasker. It sounds like you plan to make this a weekly series. I look forward to seeing the next one.

Thanks for the feedback, an app like Tasker isn't easy to do a how to. It can be very complex and requires careful planning and timing to make sure people understand and not get bored. I don't plan do it on a weekly basis, but will follow up with a Part 2 and later an intermediate guide. Not sure I can do a PRO since I'm not a PRO myself, but hopefully with people sharing I can learn more and help teach others.
