Root Behold 2 1.6 (NO Twiz) Modified theme

MODS FOR 1.6 (NOTWIZ) ONLY

We all love BH_MAN's hard work for these custom roms, lets cut him some slack and do some of the easier things like themes etc instead of asking him

I slightly modified the theme that came with the new 1.6 no twiz rom to fit my style a little more.

I figure i'll post it here just incase anyone else wants to use it.

Nothing fancy, just some tweaks..

Instructions:

push the framework-res.apk into the system/framework dir
push the TwLauncher.apk into the system/app dir

reboot

Also if any of you want to do any of your own modding,
just open up the framework-res.apk with winrar, open res and extract the drawable folder. Go nuts and when you are done making modifications just re open the apk in winrar and go to the res folder and replace the drawable folder by dragging the edited one and replacing it.

PS.. I honestly couldnt find the file for the top rounded corner thing, so if you happen to find it, please provide the NAME of the file.

Removed the rounded completely and added a drop shadow:

This is all my personal preference so...
tomorrow i'll make a default one with no rounded edges..

I modified the signal indicators, wifi. Replaced arrow app tab with previous tab and removed rounded edges and battery.
 
if i replace the images for the app drawer tab the same way you outlined above will it work? i am going to change it to look like the twiz widget drawer's tab.
 
i like it,but would be alot better if u use clear drawer arrow,like bhman's r8 rom,it shows more screen,can u make another version?if its not too much work,thanx in advance
 
Nice! Fixed most of what I had an issue with.

Two things: Whenever the data connection is working, the icon goes to a green version of the stock behold 2 data icon..... any way to change that? I'm using 2g in this area.

And while I don't like the rounded corners really, is there any way to keep the old handle? it looked much cleaner.

There is a way to fix the ugly GREEN icon, i'll have to have at it tomorrow. Same with the arrow, i'll make one tomorrow for those who just dont want the corners.

Also, I downloaded the updated .zip and all it contains is framework-res.apk, so this is the only thing I adb pushed. Only my notification bar themed, therefore that leads me to believe that by not adb pushing twlauncher.apk you will not modify the handle.

Edit: Did not realize the round corners were still there. The top is shadowed by the bar and the bottom is too dark to see.

Yep. I just pushed the framework-res.apk only and it replaced the notification bar rounded edges, but left them at the bottom.

I really like the drop shadow look at the top... now to just remove the rounded edges without removing the current app drawer.

Edit: Oh you're right... I just noticed that as well.
 
hey micro-
i'm making changes to the app drawer in advanced launcher...do i need to resign the apk after i have made my changes or can i just replace the files i'm changing (app drawer handle really the only thing changing)? i have testsign.jar installed just in case, but not exactly sure if that's what i need to resign. thanx for your help.
 
You dont have to re-sign the apk, just open the apk you want to modify, extract the drawable folder on your desktop, make changes to the files inside and then once you are done re-open the apk and drag the drawable folder from your desktop into the apk and it will repack and replace the files. No need to sign.
 
microhaxo, what program are you using to open, extract and edit the apk files?

@micro can i also edit drawable-port and drawable-land the same way? i'm editing advanced launcher not frameworks. i am going to use the twiz app try handle to keep a more stock feel and some other minor changes.
 
ok so i have made some changes to advanced launcher apk, but when i try to install the apk it says could not be installed on this phone. can someone please help me?

nvm i got it all hooked up and i love it. if anyone wants the Advanced Launcher apk I themed pm me :)
 
So can I change the vibrate icon color through these files? The black icon is hard to see, and wanted to change it to something more visible in bright light, like white.
 
hey i wanna pull the framework-res.apk from the stock 1.6 rom i know this is not the thread for that but i have a quick question...just want to know if this looks right:

"adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk to c:\"

or is it this:

"adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk to c:\framework-res.apk"

or is it different then both?

*i want the apk to copy to my c:\ dir*
