Help Bells and Whistles!

Hello Everyone, I'm brand new to the forum and I'm a fairly new to android, I ditched my iPhone 4 for the Note 2 and I'm happy I did. I'm a mechanical and structural designer so I was drawn to the Galaxy 8.0 for meeting notes and the ability to make field sketches. So far I have only one issue I'd like to take care of with the Galaxy 8.0 and I'm sure it will be fairly easy to solve with y'alls help.
It has to do with email notifications, specifically with my Gmail client, I get this annoying ring tone every time I get mail. I was able to turn off the notifications with the devices stock email client but I'm at a loss on how to turn of the Gmail notification. Any ideas?

Welcome to AF OctoberKing....We are glad you found us !!!!!!

Once you in your Gmail app you will see three dots in the upper right hand corner. Those dots will lead you to a drop down menu that includes settings. You will go there and then select your account on the left side on the screen where you will find notifications.
