Best android for under

[chillibean]

I am personally into high spec devices but I'm looking on behalf of my younger cousin who doesn't have the cash I do (well I hope so, he's only 13)

He keeps going on about blackberry becuase messenger but rumour has it that BBM is coming to android this year.

I did have a wildfire to see if i liked android and I couldn't fault it but is there anything better for the price?

Any suggestions welcomed and I guess he would look at second hand if he could get higher spec.

If you don't mind rooting and flashing a new ROM for him the Orange San Francisco isn't bad for the price. It only has a 600Mhz processor and the camera is a bit naff but it has a great screen and a nice community behind it. Most reviews were favourable.

You meantioned the HTC Wildfire. I believe 3 are selling that at

Hey, I'm also looking for a cheap unlocked android for my girlfriend.
I'm slightly weary of the touchscreens on cheap phones though, they are usually awful.
Because of that I'm looking at a phone with a keyboard too, the 2 that stand out to me atm are the Motorola Flipout or the Sony Xperia X10 Mini Pro.

Anyone have experience with either of those 2?
