Best app for streaming music over LAN?

Looking for an app to stream music from a desktop to an Android device (tablet) over my local network. That's literally all I need it to do, anything else won't be used, so I don't care if it's there or not.

Needs to be:

  • Free
  • Low on resource demands (cheap tablet)
  • If it requires something running on the desktop, that program needs to be happy to run in the background so the computer can be used for other stuff.
 
I m also searching about this kind of app, but not like "Orb", i want a software for listening my music on a NAS(so without PC turned on). For now DS Audio (dedicated to synology) works well but a second one is welcome. I think "2Player network music" is working with NAS but if it is in search results, it isn't available on the market so i can't try it.

I m also searching for a PDF reader over lan, it s crazy but it seem that it s not existing, apart some file manager but it s not intuitive.
 
I'm going to give 2Player a go. You can get it off AppBrain
 
yep it s on Appbrain and many others, but when you click on "Market" it s not available, i dont know why.

But if you succeed to download it, you can send it to me:)
 
I m using Appbrain, but the link is pointing to the Market and it always say "not exist on the market" when i click it, is it working for you ?
 
i ve tried it too, same result, it s the only app who doing that, i ve seen some guys in hte same case, may be it s due to the hardware, i dont understand.




edit: it seems that it can be due to my location or the resolution of my screen, so...
 
I ve made this too:), no everything is going fine but just this app going me mad (without knowing if its useful for my usage)
