Best app or apps to back up Android phone prior to installing new ROM or upgrade

What's the best way to back up Android phones prior to a complete wipe / re-install of new OS? (back up of sms, apps, data for apps, call log, etc etc...)

Early this year it was My Backup, and Astro File manager I believe.

Is there something newer or better these days?

There are plenty of Free apps out there which can do this for you... Just go to the market and type in "backup" to find them... The MIQ is very new and nice because its free and backs up everything to a private online account automatically or on manual mode.
