Help Best app to clean cache?

Pretty much topic :)

Addendum: for that matter, what is cache, anyway? I've been self teaching about android, and I finally understand (mostly) about ram, storage, odex vs. deodex, etc. but cache still confuses me

Cache is files stashed for quick retrieval. Temporary Internet files are a good example but other files can be cached.

You should not need to use any cache cleaner app. Cache files are there to speed up operation. So usually the best performance is achieved by simply leaving them alone and let them do their job.

It won't hurt anything to delete them but it wastes power and CPU cycles since caches will just rebuild themselves. Only clear caches if you have a specific problem that could be caused by a cache.

So the answer is the best cache cleaner is no cache cleaner. If you must clear a cache, it's built in to Android.

For an app cache: Settings > Apps > Select app > Clear cache

For all caches: Settings .> Storage > Tap on Cached data > OK

Like Crash said, you really don't need to clear cache.

However, you don't need an app to clear cache if you need to. There is a cache cleaner built in. (If you are on Jellybean 4.2 or above).

Goto Settings>Storage>Cached Data>Ok to Clear Cached Data

Nope, I'm running CM 11. I don't have the option in storage menu. Lol I guess I'm still learning about storage. Was trying to make room in my 4 gig internal and I have 128 mb cache. I will leave it alone. Thank you both for the info!
