Best backup app

Hey folks this is my first post here at android forums, so I hope the bytes are treating ypu well and really appreciate any responses you might have for me.
I would like to hear your opinions on what the best backup app or pc/website backup process for a non-rooted user would be. I.m looking forward to rooting my fascinate sometime soon when I have more research and confidence under my belt, however Before I take that step I would like to make sure everything is safe just in case I bungle things up. Im looking for something thats user-frienddly as well as thorough. Thanks

What do you want to backup? Apps are already backed up with gmail, so are contacts but just to be sure i'd take a .vcf card backup as well. That can be done in the contacts menu, just Menu >> export or something. Is there anything else after that? If you want to backup things like bookmarks then download mybackup, its got a free 30day trial so if you root within 30days you can restore everything back and then won't have to pay for the app. Once your rooted get yourself Titanium backup and you'll never need anything else.

The only things you can backup without rooting are your contacts, messages, bookmarks, calendar, and app listings. Game saves, app data, etc can't be backed up without root.

If you are on 2.3 or above game saves and data are backed up to Google if you allow it.

I have a Galaxy Player 5.0, android 2.3.5. Under settings/privacy it has a "back up my data" option and auto restore. I have no clue what that's backing up and to where...

On mine it says backup settings and application data, but in my experience, it did not backup my Angry Birds app data. @_@

I was curious what the suggested app is for backing up my android phone. I appreciate all the free apps that are available but am very leery giving all my personal info stored on the phone to a "free" app.In App Backup Restore, you can select ALL or, later on, after the first backup, just select the ones which don't have a check on them as you run it since they're new or updated. App Backup kept it well for me when I was using it.
