I am looking for info about backup apps, i like the look of Titanium but do i have to root my phone for this. I would rather not, mainly because i do not understand it to be honest. The phone has (galaxy SII) worked ok and just did not want to fiddle.
I will read up on this again but any pointer greatfully accepted

next there is my backup pro but looks a little mundane

I am looking for a full backup and easy restore

Yeah Titanium Backup, TiBu for short does require root access to launch, it was one of the first apps I purchased when I switched to Android from BB 3 years ago. It's an excellent product, it's capable of backing up the whole phone or a single app with ease, it's updated regularly and the dev is very approachable. I have never personally used MyBackup but others have said good things about it, but to be able to backup system apps and data, it would need root also. The reason is that on a stock, non rooted device you won't have access to the /system folder, which is where all of the pre installed apps are located so you can only backup and restore user apps and settings. I would link you to the forum for your phone so that you can read about root, but there's numerous versions of the GS2, if you could post what carrier you're on we can get you started. :p
