Best Buy carrying the N7?

Feedback from stores ranges from "no" to "eventually". Key apparent reason is if they sell the N7, the other tablets of similar size will collect dust more than they already do and never leave their inventory.

I still think a key reason for the N7 not having a micro sd slot is it would have pi$$ed too many OEMs and retailers off, since it would obliterate sales of a LOT of different tablets Added: More than it already is.

Wonder how much pressure Apple is using as well, since no sd slot on those tabs anyway...

I've been waiting for BBY to carry the N7 to use some gift cards but I couldn't wait anymore and picked it up somewhere else. As the largest electronic re-seller, I think it's a big mistake not carrying this. It would drive more foot traffic into their stores and have potential for accessory sales. They had an advantage on price vs people buying from Google and paying $13 for shipping as well as the people who have their rewards card.

This makes a very valid point. I never thought about it destroying their sales on the other tabs they have. I have enough reward zone certificates to basically get it for free. I am thinking about buying a Nexus 7 somewhere else and if/when it comes available for sale at Best Buy I will pick one up for my father.

I like the service (if needed), purchase plans, return policy and ability to test before buying. Easier to return if needed as well.

My sister and brother in law went to Best Buy yesterday looking for the N7. They found nothing and ended up pretty unhappy and left empty handed.

They came over to our house last night and told me the story. Simply put I had a line on a source and I called them and they said they had inventory (they actually asked how many I wanted). I put one on hold for them and we went over and picked it up. After playing with the display one that the store had I went ahead and bought one even though I don't really need it.

I have not opened mine yet.

No, and sorry for being so unclear.

I called the place where I buy most of my PC gear (who happens to be a huge asus dealer) and they told me that they still had about 70 or so from their initial order available. they most likely still have some available this morning since I was over there at 7 PM my time.

I dislike best buy.

I dislike having no option to buy from a local store. Walmart carries a few good products, but the more common electonics are the lower end segments.

Same... Best Buy is the only real electronic store in my town :( . I really like being able to play with the item I want to buy before buying it.

I do live in the SF Bay area, in fact last startup that I was in before we were purchased had an office just up the street from the google campus and I would drive by the android building on my way to lunch fairly regularly.

If you want the website/name of the store that I use (which I am not posting because I believe that it would violate TOS) PM me.

I don't think you'd violate TOS by just simply naming where you purchased it from. Otherwise all of these threads about buying from Staples, Walmart, Office Depot, and even the Play Store would have been deleted a long time ago.
