Best Buy price alert

So I've been just waiting to get rid of my crappy Captivate... and I've been waiting to look at this phone. I was tempted to get the original Atrix for $49, but decided to wait and see if the extra money was worth it to get the Atrix 2.

Went to Best Buy today to look... just look. But when the rep pulled the price up in their system it was listed for $49 with a contract renewal!

Needless to say, a new Atrix 2 followed me home. Dunno if the price was wrong in the BB system, or if that's what the everyday price will be for the Atrix 2 at Best Buy... but you can't beat $49 for a top shelf Motorola phone on release day.

Best Buy and Walmart's prices for the Atrix 2 are $49. I called my AT&T store and they said they would price match Best Buy, Walmart and Radio Shack on anything except the iPhone. So the Atrix 2 just got even more attractive!

I'm strongly considering the Atrix 2 myself....My X10 has been wonderful for me, especially since updating to 2.1, rooting and debranding it, even moreso since flashing GB to it and running Wolfbreak's GB rom. But it's heavy, not enough ram, single core cpu, and won't be getting any further updates....with Ice Cream Sandwich coming down the pipe pretty soon I think it's the time to make the jump to a larger (in screen size at least), more durable (thanks to the gorilla glass), future proof device (will likely get ICS, had dual core cpu, a gig of ram, hdmi out) like the Atrix 2.

Best Buy has them for just $49.99 right now and it just came out last weekend. Hell of a price for such a high end device, I hope I like what I see and feel at Best Buy this evening.
