best buy return question

Mods, if you feel the need to move feel free. I want to purchase the galaxy nexus. Only I have a problem. I made the mistake of buying the bionic a little more than 30 days ago. I'm a best buy silver member so I have 45 days to return merchandise. My question is. If I return my bionic, what happens to my upgrade that was spent? Do I get it back? Do I have to immediately replace the bionic? Help please!
 
I too am a Silver member and we get 45 days to return any item. Regarding the upgrade, it was explained to me as such... it is VZW policy that the upgrade/contract may not be reset after 14 days. The phone subsidy/reduced price will still apply to the new phone that you are purchasing.

I think you would have to immediately replace the bionic with phone x. However you could still replace phone x with the Nexus within 45 days of purchasing phone x.
 
Unfortunately, it isn't "every" item. The extended 45 day return policy extension for Reward Zone Premier Silver Members only affect regular items that have a 30 day return policy. If you look under the terms and conditions, contract cell phones and also a few other categories sadly don't apply to the 45 day rule. Although you could always go in and speak to someone, there's no guarantee that they'd exchange your phone out.

I returned a Asus Transformer tablet well after 15 days but for sure before 45 days.

I had no problem, the computer/notebook/tablet standard return policy is 15 days.

Not saying its 100% but you shouldnt have a problem
 
So I just talked to my local buy and he said that they WOULD accept the 45 day return period. Problem is that date for me is october 26th. When I asked if I could exchange for phone x now and then exchange phone x for the nexus he said this was not possible that they have to go by the original purchase date. I wonder if I can somehow still cheat the system.

Return phone, reset contract, buy with new reciept?

Seriously... this is your best bet. Sounds crazy, but hear me out. Return the Bionic and get the iPhone 4S 16gb model (only 199). This should already yield you some money since you probably paid 299 for the Bionic. Now sell the iPhone 4S on ebay since apple products have such a better resale value on ebay. Get a crappy beater phone off craigslist or something until Nexus comes out and then with the money you made returning bionic and selling iphone, buy the nexus full price.

You might even end up coming out cheaper than discount pricing believe it or not.
