Best case?

I've heard wonders about TPU cases so I bought one off of ebay.
It came today and...it's the exact size of my phone. There's no room to get it on. I've been struggling and once I got it on, the buttons were not aligned with the openings and it wasn't completely on. I was forcing it as much as I was willing to because of the delicate nature of the little phone.
What should I do?
I have another case coming in the mail, but I'm afraid it'll be the same deal as this.
Are there any suggestions as to how to get the cover on without hurting my phone? That would be too ironic for my tastes.
Do you have any better suggestions to where to get a quality case?

I took a quick look on Amazon.com the other day but haven't decided yet what to get for my phone. you could read the reviews there. See what people say about fit n stuff. Btw could the original wildfire n the new s have different fit?

I'm using this hard case that I got at Radioshack for 20 bucks. Its white and snaps together. It seems to work very well, ive dropped it before. Ive been looking to see if there is an otter box available

How good are otterboxes? I'm thinking about getting one, because my parents are all up on me about getting a nice case to prtect my phone. is it worth it/ is it nice/ i know people who have them for iphones and like them a lot.
How clunky do they make the phone? How much protection do they give?

Not sure about what it adds to the Wildfire S, but I've had one on my main handset virtually since I got it. My phone has fallen out my pocket whilst I've been cycling and thanks to Otterbox it escaped unscathed (as did the case).

Their after sales support is excellent, there's a small flaw in the Desire HD Case whereby the top right corner (next to the power button) develops a crack. However if you send them a picture of the crack, they'll replace the entire case no questions asked.
