Not only is there no notifications but you cannot rotate pictures. Unless you take a picture with the phone tilted the right wide ways not tall ways, the picture will be posted rotated wrong.

My biggest complaints about the facebook app:

If you go to the menu and choose to do a mobile upload, it makes the picture tiny, but if you do it straight from the camera it does it full size.

No notifications on the app, only email or you have to go in there and manually refresh it.

when you do indeed get a notification, you click on the link and 99% it gives you an error and you cant even see the page

sometimes the widget doesnt even sync the status updates until hours later

Hopefully someone will get on this shit soon, since it has to be one of the most used apps out there

my gmail is my account with facebook....I do get email notifications instantly, obviously actual FB notifications is MUCH more preferable.

I use Ebuddy for online chat, FREE APP and works perfect, it combines all my IM accounts just like trillian does on the computer, in fact Ebuddy does the FB chat way better then trillian.

so at least you can get your FB chat on with ebuddy!

the FB app is terrible overall, BBerry's was terrible too but at least you got notifications that sync'd with the actual app.
