Best (free) calendar app?

D0MIN0

I would love to have a calendar app that will display things I put on it, on the actual widget. The one I used now is the standard one that comes on the Galaxy s3. Any suggestions of a better one that has a nice, and customizable widget?

Gemini is a great choice. You have plenty of features on it and it never lags or crashes from my experience. You may need to get used to the features as they are a bit different from most other calendars out there. As you have mentioned, you want to be able to see things that you have scheduled and as shown in doc's thread, you can have up to 8 things right on your screen at all times according to time and date.

There are a huge number of calendar apps, most with widgets. I prefer an agenda view and currently use Business Calendar 2 for my widget (which I have displaying the next few months' appointments in a scrolling list), but most apps have one or more widget options. Most also have a free version or a trial version (though often some widget views or customisations are paid options), so you can just try a number of them out and see what works best for you.

I don't think there is a single "best" calendar app because different people have different preferences. For example, Jorte is very popular, but I don't get on with it at all. At one time or another I've tried aCalendar, APW Widgets, Business Calendar, Business Calendar 2, CalenGoo, Digical, Gemini, Informant, Jorte, Pimlical, Pure Calendar Widget, and probably some others I've forgotten about. Oh, and a port of the BlackBerry calendar app from the Priv (very nice "Day" view, others nothing special IMO). And I currently have 4 of those installed, because they've all got something I like as well as other things that I'm less keen on (though there are a couple I've not used recently, so one of them might go at some point).

+1 - for both BC2 and the use of agenda view ...

There are many apps available for managing the calendar..but i think we should choose one app that solve most of our purpose like chat, photo sharing ,calendar, email, etc.
