Best Free RSS News Feed?

Can anyone suggest the best free RSS news feed app? I'm having issues when trying to buy apps so am looking for a really good free RSS feed. I have tried Blue RSS (which I didn't like) and Newsroom which was great although the free trial has now run out. I tried Google Reader but I seem unable to add my own feeds, which is something I want to do.

Any advice would be very much appreciated. :D
 
NewsRob is a good one if you use Google Reader, but the OP said it didn't work. AC00, what do you mean you can't add your own feeds? You should be able to create a feed for any website you want (unless it requires a login).

Do most of these use Google Reader? I must admit I have never used Google Reader, is it something worth taking a look at?

NewsRob seems to be the general consensus so will have a look at that.

If anyone finds any others do post the name.:)
 
I like Google Reader. It is definitely worth taking a look at.

Most RSS apps do sync with Google Reader. I'm using FeedR, and IMO, it is the best. I've even got my GR synced with it. It's a paid app so once you can start buying apps then def give it a try.

so with GR do you have to sign in on a PC and then add the subscriptions that way? I notice there is a synchronisation menu so I presume NewsRob syncs with GR - do you have to always be signed into GR in order to get regular updates?

You do need to go on a pc and add the subscriptions on GR itself. After that, though, you don't need to be signed in. It will sync automatically. I believe you can also, set when it will update.
 
as you can see from the screenshots above, none are in the same league as NewsRoom which you have tried, so just purchase it!!
