Best holster for the galaxy note 2

Hi guys

Im looking for the best tried and true tested holster that is thin but durable to fit the note 2. I ordered one from amazon and the holster part cracked and the phone was loose after that.
I have the otter box which works great but is ugly as ever. Any suggestions?

I recommend the seido its the best case with holster in my opinion, the case is also thin.

Hi eddie8, you were not specific about which case you are using beside your reference to Otterbox (I assume Defender). Typically holsters are not intended for a naked phone, but rather to work along with a case. That is why Defender has a specifically design holster for that purpose, as an example. There are a few cheap ebay/amazon cases that come with holsters, but those have a poor quality. Would be curious if you post a link to the one you ordered from Amazon?

In general as it was correctly pointed out above, Seidio makes the best holster out there. They are very durable, have heavy duty clip, and also spring-loaded latch. Although those are designed for their specific cases lines such as SURFACE, ACTIVE, CONVERT, you can also fit other cases in their holsters. I tested CONVERT holster with my UAG case and ZeroLemon TPU case, and also been told it works good with Sweet Armor bumper even with extended battery (phone facing in). Their ACTIVE case works great with Case-Mate Tough and someone mentioned Otterbox Commuter. Their SURFACE case will work with any thin TPU case, and probably naked phone as well. What is great, all of their holsters could be purchased separately.

You can get more details by looking into my reviews of various Seidio cases (from the signature link or the sticky in this forum).

Thanks mr.pnut and twister6....I like my otterbox for work but it covers the phone so well that you cant even tell its a gn2.plus typing on it is a pain as I have to press down much harder. I do have the seido pouch as well and I like that but I use that when im out or dressing up. I guess im being anal....lol

Ahhhhh it sounds like you're looking for a holster minus the heavy duty case that hide that beautiful phone.

EDIT Based on the reviews of this particular holster, the clip is no good. Too many people stating the clip broke causing phones to tumble to the ground. Some phones broke; some didn't.

Seidio Surface case. The clips are amazingly strong. They will not break. The form is thin enough that it won't bulk out your phone.

Seidio packages cases with and without holsters. I have 2 Active cases but I only have 1 holster.
On Amazon it's much cheaper to buy the combo than separately, that's how I ended up with 2 cases, the Active only costs me $7 more than just the holster.

Ok, I'm confused. First this whole thread should be in the case forum since it's all relative and basically we've got a whole new thread discussing the same cases all over again.
Second, I read the OP's initial post as wanting a holder without the rubber cases and the links being provided by those trying to help are actually again cases that have already been posted.

I was actually looking for people who have tried and tested a light duty holster. Not just recommendations only. I have reviewed the previous posts on cases but wasn't satisfied with the results. Hence the reason for this post.:)

The problem with finding a "light duty" holster has a lot to do with the holster itself. Some are not made to withstand the Note 2 even though they're for this phone resulting in the holster breaking or cracking.

(IMO) Holster only is for showing off the phone which would be fine if you can find one that allows the phone to face out. Due to it's massive screen most will face in.

If you want something light while also offering protection without the bulk of a case then it sounds like your best bet would be a belt pouch.
