Best IM Client?

Akkhima

Anyone have a favorite client for using AIM, yahoo, MSN, etc? I'm especially interested in AIM, but a multi-client would be nice. I just downloaded IM+ Lite, but was wondering if anyone had a different favorite.

I personally like eBuddy. eBuddy IM v1.4 Application for Android | Communication

Notes from the Market:

Get the best instant messaging app with eBuddy!

- Fast and reliable messenger
- Chat with multiple MSN, Facebook, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ, GTalk & MySpace accounts
- All IM friends in one buddy list
- Run in background
- Messages sent as data, not SMS/Text

I haven't had one single problem with it. All the other ones I tried would always disconnect when my phone was in sleep mode. This one doesn't. Did I mention that it is free.

I read somewhere that google talk supports AIM, but I think this was talking about the computer version of google talk. Can anyone confirm this working on android?

I've been using Meebo (allows multiple IM clients) and I just started playing with Fring (allows multiple IM clients, plus VOIP calls).

I have Meebo but I've never really used it. I don't use AIM too much anymore. What is the disconnect issue? Maybe I'll replace it for something else.

I don't konw I have eBuddy and it's not letting me post my status update or let me be anything other than available.

I installed meebo recently, it seems the disconnect issue has been resolved. One thing I dislike about it that Hi AIM didn't do is that when I sign on from my PC it sends the AOL system message to the phone and computer telling me I was signed on in another location. Again, Hi AIM didn't do this.

Otherwise, I do like it better than Hi AIM.

I thought Meebo would replace Hi AIM for me but I feel it's lacking still compared to Hi AIM. Hi AIM has been working VERY well for me, no disconnects, it doesn't mysteriously close on me.

I'm off to Trillian's site to suggest they make an Android app, I use Astra on my PCs and would LOVE it on my Droid...

I hardly use IM anymore - Txt messaging, as I have always said is really the killer text communicator. and its built into the phone system. I do have meebo, however, so I can use Jabber and sometimes, AIM.

I'm using Nimbuzz because it's the closest thing to a beejive app android has. But it has some serious connection issues. All the other IM apps suck. They have ugly UI, unable to send or recieve photos, can't update status, and cand see or change your icon photo nor see thiers. Almost all of the iPhone IM apps can do this. Hell even IM plus his 10 times better and have way more features on the iPhone that they don't put on there android version.
