Best note-taker app?

Hey guys, I really love the Apple 'Notes' app on my iPod Touch and on my Mac to write down my brief thoughts, however, I need to be able to read these on a couple Android devices. I tried using Evernote instead, but Evernote starts up too slowly on my iPod Touch. I just want something fast to write down my thoughts so I can check them out later on my Mac or Windows PC when I get home.

Try google Keep on your devices, then install it as an app in your chrome browser on any device ( not sure about ipod) and it syncs across all devices in both directions automagically. Simple app but good.
