Best options for answering calls?

I really don't like sliding the red/green icons to reject/answer a call. What are the best options out there to change that? Thanks for any ideas!

You can use the home button to answer calls.

I was the same as you and didn't like the slide motion.You can also hang up by pressing the lock key too as long as the relevant settings are enabled in your menu.

What are the preferred third party apps that have different mechanisms for answering calls?

There is an option to use your voice to answer calls as well. It's under Language and Inputs - Voice Commands.

Sliding to answer is the standard for all Android phones.

You could use BIG! caller ID as an alternative app. I've never used it, but it looks like you can just press answer instead of sliding.
