Best Password Manager App??

I ended up with B-Folders. It is much more than a password manager. I keep tons of secret notes and contacts that I imported from Palm Desktop. Syncs great over USB like Palm and over Wi-Fi too. Very happy with it so far.

SplashID looked promising, but very poor quality on Android and they wanted to purchase the desktop version before I can try it.

Well, it seems I made a really good choice. The latest update of B-Folders auto-fills the username and the password in login pages on my phone, windows 7 machine and MacBook! Moreover, it is a free update. On Android it is a free app anyways. It's getting a really powerful product. Very happy with it so far.

DataVault for Android has just been released with an optional Dropbox sync, which works fine. It's really worth the long wait.

PasswordSafe Pro is very good!!

Good in what sense?

Does it support the de facto standard Counterpane password safe file format?

There are some phony "PasswordSafe" apps out in the wild right now that have hijacked Bruce Schneier's brand, some of which are incompatible. One of the imposter "Password Safe" apps will actually upload your passwords to an untrusted third party, which Schneier advises against in his blog.

Judging from the overview, it appears "Kuffs" is a British company that has jacked Counterpanes brand. The screen snaps shows a credit card record type (which is not a normal pwsafe feature), and it also requires full internet access -- looks like an untrustworthy phony to me.

I have used KeePass on a PC for a few years. The version I am using is a newer v2.16.

I installed KeePassDroid and cannot get it to load the kdbx file as the program reports on my Droid that it has run out of memory. The message is: "The phone ran out of memory while parsing your database. It may be too large for your phone."

The file size is 7.31 MB. Maybe this is just too much for the Droid.

That's because the android keepass app doesn't support. kdbx just. Kdb
Either use a v1.x pc version or make sure your 2.x can save as. kdb as suggested above

On the PC: Long time KeepassX user; recently switched to LastPass and find it far superior in convenience and sync to KeepassX. Everything's encrypted on the user side and there's no need to keep track of a *.db on dropbox et. al. Plugins available for the dominant browers.

Tried LastPass on the Droid and find it's dedicated browser approach to be clumsy. It also wants to use its own keyboard implementation, which I haven't found to be very efficient.

So, I'm off to explore the droid landscape; I'll try Keepass first and see if I can get the dropbox approach to work.

Happily lived with DataViz Password Plus for long time during my Parm V and Sony Clie series. Having Android Phone(Galaxy S2 and iPhone), I waited long time Password Plus mobile version to come. Finally, I bought Ascendo DataVault in 2010. It was the best until I have found B-folders. B-folders from JointLogic is much better in syncing with PC and Mac! It is now on sale price $9.98. With a single license, you can use up to 5 devices(Windows PC, Mac, Linux, Android...). Desktop version is excellent to manage! You can also use it as me secret memo/note sync with your PC. To edit note with Desktop version is also easy to use and very nice!!!

I heard DataVault released sync option to Dropbox. I think that it is not very good idea put your sensitive personal data into any kind of web file service. And its price tag is way-high $9.99 just for a license to Android Phone only. You need to buy Windows PC version(or Mac Version) separately by paying additional $9.95. With $9.98, you can buy B-Folders single license to cover up to 5 devices including Windows PC, Mac, Linux and Android phone. Sync each other is fantastic. And you can use it as a secret note wallet also with PC and Mac sync feature.

Best password/bookmark app. Works seamlessly from Android and Windows (installed on HDD or USB drive/flash drive).

I still use the original Password Safe on my Desktop. The recommended android alternative is PasswdSafe and it supports the same file format and only requires "Storage" permissions. Wiki link. I prefer an app that will not Sync or store the passwords online. I personally keep this app as an additional backup. I still think applications on Androids and other mobiles are not safe enough for critical transactions online.

Datavault gives you the option to sync to Dropbox or SD card or WebDav server. It can be used as a standalone product.

I've just installed "Volcanic Password Manager" and I find it very useful, pwd are divided by type. It can export data in different formats and has a very nice and funny interface. I read it stores data in a safe mode through ARC4

Ok, I've just read through pages and pages of convo comparing the different password managers - my brain is swimming....

I don't need a form filler or any of that - what I really, really want is a secure password keeper that will automatically sync any changes between my android phone and xoom. I don't need it on my PC or any of that.

I have a really basic keeper now, OI Safe, but it doesn't sync - I have to do all this tedious backup/import business.

Can anyone recommend a simple, basic, secure PW keeper that will automatically sync changes I enter when the program is loaded on both my android phone and xoom?

Thanks!

First, I apologize on my english.
Couple a years ago, on my UIQ device I use Handy Safe Pro and Handy Safe desktop. I think it's a very good password manager. After that UIQ device I installed it on my S60 phone, and finally on my HTC DHD. Everything worked fine, synchronization with PC, many templates etc.
I purchased Samsung SGS II on December last year. Now I have a problem. Synchronization with PC is not working.
You can read this on paragon software support page.

Q: What do I have to do if I cannot synchronize Handy Safe Pro data with the PC?
Answer:
Make sure that you a have memory card installed in your phone.
Connect your phone to your PC via USB cable in USB Storage mode
Launch Handy Safe Desktop Pro and press the Sync button

On my phone I have 8 GB external SD card, and I can dismount external SD card. When I connect my phone with PC I can access to externalSD and my phone memory.
Did anybody try this software and maybe have the similar problem.

Just bought SplashID for windows 7 and android app. If you have wi-fi and don't want to send your data through the cloud, it works a treat. Downloaded easily, synced first time, no problems. Not free, but a one-off price, so no ties to a company. I can now transfer my data to new computers and phones without ever having to re-type it. It looks good on the phone too. The company also replied to a query within half an hour. I'd give it 5 stars.

Hi, I am a mobile software developer and want to develop my own Password Manager application for Android. I would be glad to hear your suggestions here at the forum.

Basically what I want is:
* Great UI for ICS/Honeycomb
* Seamless sync with clouds

I just started and want to complete the beta in 30 dyas. And as I wrote above, I would love to hear any comments from you.

Genekim - you went from Password Plus to DataVault, then to B-folders. Were you able to import your Password Plus data? How hard was it? What about switching between DataVault and B-folders?
