Best price on TMobile G2?

Hey guys,

I want to switch to TMobile to save some $$ on three plans. The TMobile plans looks good, however, up to the time when you realize that you have to pay monthly lease for the phone. With the lease on top of the plan $$ it is not such an appealing deal.
Hence, the question, has anyone been able to pick up a G2 for TMobile for a good price without paying those monthlies?
 
You can probably buy the phone from craiglist or ebay for less than the retail price. The price is a tough pill to swallow. I just bought mine the other day from T-Mobile. After taxes and paying one month of the $50 dollar plan i ended up paying a total of $710 dollars. The phone is awesome though, no complaints there.

Auuuch - $710, insane.
 
Yeah, I sold my HTC One for $550, so in a sense it basically cost me $150 for the G2. Basically, the first time you buy a phone with T-Mobile, as long as it's one of the top tier phones, you'll pay more, but the monthly payments will be less. After a year or so, you can sell your old phone and "upgrade" to a new one for basically the same upgrade cost from any other carrier. The difference, you'll save $20-30 monthly which basically pays for the phone in the end when compared to other carriers.
 
Even with the $21 per month on the G2, and JUMP, and the $8 insurance on my wife's line, and unlimited high speed data, I'm still saving about $50 as compared to my crappy Verizon plan I just ditched, which gave me less minutes and less data on my wife's line.

Jesus how much money were you paying for that Verizon contract. I always felt Verizon is expensive but damn....
