I really like Cyanogen mod, it did wonders on my Incredible 1 and is currently doing wonders on my Galaxy Nexus 
I would agree. Specifically CondemnedSoul's V1.4 or 1.5 with evan's .8bfs or .8cfs Kernels gives some mad performance and battery life. Stable as it gets too.
