Root best roms at thanksgiving

I'll be visiting family for thanksgiving, and 3 of them are running CTMod 3.68 with the kernel that came out around that time. Want to know what I should flash on their phones as they all are having various issues, mostly FCs that might be fixed if they fixed permissions.

What is the best ROM/kernel combination these days?
Any CM10 roms stable enough? How is the CM 7.2 rom?

The best fully functional ROM is still CTMOD. There are a few test kernels in the CTMOD thread that you could try.

CM9 and 10 both have functional ROMs out there. It's just that they all still have quite a few issues. No camera, etc.

CM7 is a long way from being a daily driver.

MIUI is a good one too. Still, no camera along with a few other issues.

As for the force closes you mentioned with Ctmod, I've never really had an problems with that. The only issues the majority of the users are seeing right now are lag and freeze ups. A daily reboot seems to be solving that problem.

If it were me, I would take all of their phones and do a factory reset. I would wipe the cache and dalvik and then start with a fresh install of CTMOD. The test kernels in the CTMOD thread may affect each phone differently. Some like them while others have issues with them. It's just a trial and error thing.

Good luck. :)

Thanks! as far as the best way to wipe and factory reset is it:
wipe cache/data factory reset
wipe davlik, etc.
flash rom
flash kernel
fix permissions
reboot
--thats it?

are the test kernels for CTMOD in the OP on that thread?
is there a way to automatically reboot the phone at a certain time everyday?

Yep, that will do it. The only difference is that I go into advanced and reboot recovery before I flash the ROM. Here are the test kernels.

is the Marky Beats v2 more stable than CTMod?

Don't really know about that. Give it a try and see.
