Root Best Root Method For Razr Maxx please?

Hey guys whats going on. Just curious on whats the best method on rooting my Razr Maxx "6.16.211.XT912.Verizon.en.US" Running ICS 4.0.4 (not leaked).

I did some research on the web and its for the leaked version and im not trying to F-UP my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you have all the files in one folder on your desktop. If you move the utility.bat out of it you'll get that error

Maybe try re downloading? I know there is a new version of the utility 1.82 but either should work.

Re download, create a folder called droid razr utility on your desktop and extract all the files there and try again

Does it matter that under device manager the device driver for adb is from 2009 even though i installed the latest android sdk

I'm not sure. Try downloading the drivers from Motorola. I'm on my phone so I don't have a link but Google droid razr usb drivers and it should be the first one. Just get the one for your system, either 64 or 32 bit

Ok my friends, I'm finally successful. I did a bit of searching online and discovered that if port 5037 stays open, It will cause this issue. Using command line program netstat, i confirmed that it was open, but closed a few minutes later. then using the command line, I started the adb server. after that, the utility ran as expected. Thanks for all the help all.

Rooting doesn't change anything that would make it buggy lmao unless you started messing with root only apps without knowing what you're doing.

I'm having an issue with the phone display dimming, and but it's probably one of the apps that jumped onto the superuser console. I'm going to disable them one by one until I find the culprit.

All set. There was a led selected that light flow tried to control and only seemed to do that after getting superuser enabled.
