Best sprint phone for $50 or less wih 2 year contract?

My Buddie and his father have there 2 year contract up and are looking to upgrade.

They asked me what its the best phone for $50 or under. I am on verizon and do not know much about sprint prices. What is the best sprint had to offer for that price range? they are not looking for the best phone they just want one that is a good reliable phone. They said they saw the LG optimus G and were looking at that. Is that the best deal or is there any better phones?

Sale on HTC One on Amazon for $99.99, me thinks for today only. However, at that price range.. you won't be getting much on Sprint. He could snag a Galaxy Nexus for free, but the phone is rather outdated.

According to Sprint's website, it's true there.
A Galaxy S3 is also free with an upgrade which is another great option.

The LG Optimus G and the Galaxy S3 seem to be the main ones right now. And if they want a pure nexus phone, there's always the Galaxy Nexus...
