Best Text Messaging App?

I stopped using a messaging app, but the last one I did use was go sms. It was really nice, except for the mms being screwy with the occasional link instead of picture....
 
Granted they're all (I believe) free, give them all a shot. Personally, I use Handcent, but GoSMS was also nice. Never used Chomp.
 
Probably a stupid question, but why are these better than using the built in SMS? Just curious. Never tried a texting app...

Prefer Go SMS Pro myself as well. Handcent is fine as well. Just seem to like Go a bit better. To me it looks a bit nicer/polished.
 
i was on handcent. trying Go SMS Pro for now, i did notice that if i put Go SMS Pro on the media card it didn't work correctly. if i leave it on the phone memory it works fine. handcent didn't seem to care where it was stored.
