Best Third Party Browser

One of the reasons I didn't get a Droid is because I want a browser that doesn't automatically download the Mobile versions of web pages-if I am buying a smart phone, I don't want a dumb downed web page, especially if I am in an area that has decent speed.

Which browser is the best? Is there going to be a version of Firefox/Opera for Droid?

:D I am on the edge of my seat waiting for Fennec.

Firefox for mobile - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is currently available in beta version for Nokia Maemo based N800/N810/N900 devices, and in alpha version for Windows Mobile. Work is underway for Symbian OS based mobile devices,[3] and a version for the Android platform is due to be released soon.
Love the quote right below that about lack of iPhone support, too. I laughed out loud.

EDIT: Added video I found shortly after the post.

Just downloaded Dolphin 30 minutes ago. Early indications are great. Pages begin to render while loading; multi-touch pinching works great. Easy entering of URLs. .... more to follow.:)

You can set the user agent switch in Dolphin to Desktop, Android or iPhone...

So setting it to Desktop should do the trick for you.

IMHO, options like this are why one should look into Android over any other platform. The openness of the platform is bringing in new features by storm. (pinch zoom, user agent switching etc...)

Don't forget steel, its kind of in between dolphin and the default browser in terms of functions. If dolphin is overkill, give steel a try.

I actually have both steel and dolphin and use one or the other depending on my mood!

Dolphin is awesome and I use it as my default browser, but skyfire is a great browser that I use quite often as well. While we are still waiting on Froyo and flash10.1, skyfire gives us an alternative by playing many flash videos in the browser.

I use opera and it's great, I just can't get comfortable in dolphin and xscope is awesome but it feels a little glitch and unfinished

I have tried Opera, Skyfire, and Dolphin. I like Dolphin the best. Skyfire is good, but I prefer Dolphin for now. I cannot understand how people enjoy using Opera... it is fast but annoying in almost every other way.

I would use Dolphin HD. It runs smoother than the original Dolphin. The add ons and themes are great too.

I was surprised and disappointed the Android browser doesn't sync with Google bookmarks.

I like that Dolphin HD does sync with Google bookmarks. I would like it even better if it supported the labels.

I like the Opera Mini Browser. I liked Dolphin HD but they took out the You Tube thing and it was sometimes a little slow. When is Firefox coming out? never tried it but would like to.

Opera is and was always my choice, more as i use it on my desktop; sync of bookmarks is important and so far the fastest on my Milestone.
