Best Verizon Android Phone?

Cid

I'm not sure if this is the right section or not, so pardon me if it isn't... But I was wondering which phone was the best, or at least a really good one for Verizon customers? My upgrade date is coming in a week or so and I'm going to be blessed by finally being able to get a good phone. Last time, I got stuck with the Droid Eris and I've regretted not getting the Motorola Droid since. I'd rather not get stuck with a crappy phone again, so I was wondering what you guys thought were the best ones to choose from? I've had my eyes set on the Thunderbolt for a while now... But there are several other phones that seem awesome as well. Like the Droid X2 and the LG Revolution.

Opinions? ^_^

Let's try the Verizon forum area for that question, Cid.

As for me, Droid 3 fits the bill, having come off a Samsung Fascinate.

The CPU and graphics handling is very crisp and fast, the keyboard is solid.. I love the phone (and had a problem because of it being Motorola, until I tried it in the store).

I guess I didn't scroll down far enough to see that this forum existed. Lol

But Droid 3? I hadn't really given it much thought, since I'm not terribly fond of keyboards. I also wasn't a big fan of the original droid. But I suppose anything is a step up from the Eris. Does it do mobile hotspot? And how do the specs stack up compared to the Thunderbolt?

I agree with the Droid 3 recommendation. I've been researching phones quite a bit lately and this seems to be the best that Verizon has right now.
Though the Samsung Galaxy S2(Function) is rumored to be arriving within the next two weeks and that will then be their top dog. In my opinion of course.

I'd throw into consideration the Incredible 2. I've had it for a few months now and haven't had any issues really. No lag, basically a Thunderbolt with a slightly smaller screen (though it's more vivid than the Tbolt's IMHO), no 4G LTE (but is global if you want it), and 2-3 times the battery life. It's not very heavy, has an aluminum bezel/frame, and to me a 4" screen is the right size (like the Droid3).

Currently I'd say if you want a physical keyboard or like intensive games go with the D3. If you want a large screen, intensive games, and HDMI out, go with the DX2. If you want a lighter weight & your games are more the Angry Bidrs type, go with the Inc2. I will say however that I've been playing Capt. America on my Inc2 and have never seen it stutter or lag.

To be honest, I don't think you could go wrong with any Verizon 3G phones released in 2011. The LTE's seem to be a little more hit and miss, but they're new tech so there will be some growing pains.

If you want to go powerhouse you might want to wait with the Droid Bionic and the Galaxy S2 variant only 2 weeks to a month away.

So it's confirmed that Verizon is getting the Galaxy S2? Because that phone simply looks amazing. I just couldn't find anything solid about a release. I can easily wait it out another month or so for that piece of hardware.

I'm looking at Dink2 or LG Revolution, but I do love a physical keyboard so Droid 3 is in the mix to. Still about four months off for me.

You are at the edge of a slew of phones coming out in the next several weeks. Unless you absolutely need a phone now, hold off a few weeks. Samsung Galaxy S II, Moto Bionic, and iPhone 5 are all due out within 4 weeks of each other. Apple could pull a fast one and launch one helluva phone or just be in the mix with the others. The advantage to these is that there is a known phone coming out around Thanksgiving. If they do not hit a homerun in August/Sept, conscientious buyers will hold off for the Nexus Prime.

Agreed. That is why I still have a D1.

To the OP, are you in a 4G area? If so, there are currently 3 phones that have 4G (HTC TB, Samsung Charge, LG Revo). IMO, the Charge is the way to go in the 4G current lineup. I had the TB prior to the Charge, which is my current phone.

4G is amazing for me in my area.

If 3G is what you are after, I personally like the Dinc2. Great size, feel, and reported battery life. I played with one for a weekend, and liked it. If it weren't for my area getting 4G last week, I would have purchased the Dinc2.

I also love my Dinc2. If you're always waiting for the best tech then you'll never buy anything since tech is always getting better. I'm not in a 4G area so I'm glad that I went with the incredible 2. I had the original MOTO Droid and this has been a pretty big upgrade in my opinion.

They offer 4G in my area, but I have no idea how good it is. Is there a way to find out that isn't just word of mouth?
