Help Best Video Format ?

Does anybody know what the best video format for the moment is when converting videos? Ive tried google searches and the search here but cant find nothing concrete. I just want video thatll fit the whole screen and not be fuzzy. I have a good converter just need to know the format. Thanks.

well.... with rock player .avi works wonders. i also never had a problem playing .mp4 files as well using the stock media player. any format that plays should be fine depending on the origional quality of th file
