Yep, watched the premier last night and I'm pretty amused. Looking forward to seeing how the character evolves.
 
Based on BB and last night's episode, I feel like being taken out into the desert to be threatened/executed is going to be a fairly recurring event for poor James McGill.
 
As somebody who never watched Breaking Bad, I saw the first episode as a captive audience waiting for Talking Dead to come on lol. Nothing really compelled me to want to see more, but maybe I'll give it another chance when a few episodes get on demand.
 
Yeah, the first 2 episodes are probably fairly confusing for somebody who doesn't have the context of Breaking Bad. Hopefully they develop him enough in this first season to really make the show stand on its own feet for people who haven't seen BB.

That said...watch Breaking Bad damnit, it's a great show. You'll see why we were all clamoring for a Saul spinoff.
 
I'm really excited that this spinoff isn't just various dealings of the Saul Goodman we already know. That could be entertaining for an episode or two, but I think that seeing his "origin story" is much more interesting, and is far more likely to be fleshed out in an enjoyable way over the course of the series.
 
I missed it bc I was out of town and I forgot to set the DVR (TWD is auto set to record). Is anyone carrying it? Hulu, Netflix? Probably not, I'll have to try to catch up on AMC. Thank Goddess for DVR devices. :D
