Root Better performance after root and custom rom?

So, I just rooted and installed Supersonic on my EVO, and I'm not sure if there's a placebo effect going on - but the phone feels like it's a lot faster and has considerably smoother scrolling; has anyone else had a similar experience?

Either way, I'm so glad to have that Sprint garbage off of my phone!

Some custom ROMs make it feel faster, some don't. There are several ROMs available that eliminate or reduce the Sprint/HTC bloatware. I am enjoying the Fresh 0.3 rom at the present. It definitely makes the Evo snappier.
